Playing Matters is offering the following training programmes in 2010/2011:

Children Matter: EDINBURGH WORKSHOPS

Two-Day CPD workshop for School Staff, Counsellors, Arts Therapists, Trainees:

"An Introduction to Play Therapy & Therapeutic Play: Working with Children & Young People"

Saturday 6th November and Sunday 7th November 2010

 

Children Matter: Course for professionals working with children and young people, held over three weekends in London and Edinburgh in 2011.

  • London: 7th/8th May, 4th/5th June, 3rd/4th July 2011
  • Edinburgh: 21st/22nd May, 18th/19th June, 9th/10th July 2011

An accredited course for professionals, linking theory with the practice of working with children, young people (and adults). There are three Units:

  • Child Development & the Development of Play
  • Attachment Theory linked with Practice,
  • Strategies for Communicating with Children & Young People.

Active Listening Matters (6-day accredited course for Social Workers, Community Youth Workers, Nursing staff, and those requiring knowledge and skills to listen to and work with children and young people)

  • North-East: July to September 2009
